AlpacaKeepYour contacts list is the address book for your farm. Go to Settings → Contacts to save the people and farms you deal with: vets, suppliers, breeders, and buyers. Once a contact is saved, you can link it to an animal or a purchase.
Why it is useful
- Link a breeder to an animal you bought. When you pick a saved Source farm on an animal you acquired, that farm's name prefix shows on the animal. Type a name by hand instead and the prefix will not appear.
- Pick a vendor on a purchase. Choose the contact you bought from so the record stays tidy. (Purchase details are Owner and Co-Owner only.)
- One place for everyone. No more digging through messages for your vet's number.
Steps
- Settings → Contacts. This opens your contacts list.
- Add a contact. Enter the name and any details you have, then save.
- Use it later. When you add or edit an animal and choose Acquired from another farm, pick this contact in the Source farm box.

Tip. You do not have to leave a form to add a contact. When you fill out an animal or a purchase and need a contact that is not saved yet, use the create contact option right there. It adds the contact and selects it in one go.
