Fix a mistake: edit, delete, or undo

Made a typo or deleted the wrong thing? Almost everything in AlpacaKeep can be edited, recovered, or undone. Here is how.

Questo articolo è disponibile solo in inglese per ora. Stiamo traducendo il Centro assistenza - le altre lingue arriveranno a breve.

Relax. AlpacaKeep is built so you can fix mistakes. Most things can be edited after the fact, deleting is usually a soft delete you can recover, and some actions can be undone outright.

Edit something

Open the animal, task, event, or entry and look for an Edit option, then Save changes. Editing is the simplest fix for a typo or a wrong date.

Deleting is usually recoverable

When you delete most things in AlpacaKeep, they are not gone for good. They are hidden and kept safe, so you can bring them back.

Good to know. To recover something you deleted, look for an Archived list or a Restore option on the screen where the item lived. For example, deleted tasks can be found in the archived tasks list.

Quick undos

Some actions give you a fast way to reverse them:

  • Finance entries. Delete a financial entry and you get a 30-second Undo right away. After that, look in the archived entries to restore it.
  • CSV import. After an import, the result screen has Undo this import, which rolls back the animals that import created. See Bring your herd across from a spreadsheet or another app.
  • A recorded sale. If you marked an animal Sold by mistake, look for an Undo sold option on the animal.

Watch out

Watch out. If you are unsure whether a screen lets you undo something, check for an Archived or Restore option before assuming it is gone. When in doubt, ask before deleting, but know that recovery is the norm here, not the exception.

  • Add an animal
  • Bring your herd across from a spreadsheet or another app
