Log the same event for a whole group (a session)

Log one event to many animals at once with a session, so the whole group is recorded together and can be undone together.

To log the same event for a group of animals, go to Events and press Log session. You pick the animals once, then log one or more actions for all of them. This saves you from logging the same vaccination on twenty animals one at a time. For just one animal, use its Health tab instead (see Log a health event for one animal).

Steps

  1. Events → Log session. This opens the session form.
  2. Pick the animals. Choose the whole group you are working with in one go.
  3. Add an action. Pick the Event type and Date. If it is a medication, fill in the medication details.
  4. Vary the dose if you need to. You can set a different dose for each animal in the group.
  5. Add more actions if you did more than one thing to the same group.
  6. Save. Every animal gets its own event row.

One batch, easy to undo

All the rows you save in a session share one batch. That means:

  • Right after saving, they appear together under Just logged, with a 5-minute window to undo the whole batch at once if you made a mistake, instead of deleting rows one by one.
  • After that, they stay grouped as one batch in the events list.

Good to know. Each animal's event still shows on its own Health tab too. The batch just keeps them grouped.

Shearing day is a session too

Shearing day is a special kind of session built for the whole herd at once. Use it when you are shearing and want to record fleece for many animals in one sitting.

  • Log a health event for one animal
  • Quick log: record one event fast
  • Your medication list and your medicine cabinet (stock)
  • Withdrawal periods: keeping meat and milk safe to sell
