Group animals into paddocks

Name your paddocks and pastures, then move animals into them so you always know who is where.

Paddocks are your fields and pastures inside AlpacaKeep. Name them in Settings → Paddocks, then move animals into them. This is how you keep track of who is where.

Steps

  1. Settings → Paddocks. Add a paddock for each field or pasture and give it a name (like "North Paddock").
  2. Animals → (open an animal) → Overview tab. Use Move to paddock to put the animal in one of your paddocks.
  3. Done. The animal now shows which paddock it is in, and the paddock knows who lives there.

Why it is useful

  • Know who is where at a glance.
  • Paddock routines. When you start a routine for a whole paddock, AlpacaKeep can use the animals living in that paddock right now. So "Top up mineral bucket" can apply to everyone in North Paddock in one go.

Tip. You do not have to set up paddocks first. While adding an animal, you can create a paddock right on the form and put the animal in it at the same time.

  • Add an animal
  • Attach documents (certificates, lab reports, receipts)
