AlpacaKeep1. The deal
By using AlpacaKeep during the beta period you agree to these conditions, in addition to our Terms of Service:
- The service is still being built. Features, behaviour and pricing may change before public launch, and features may be paused or removed (Terms of Service, Section 2). As far as the law allows, we promise nothing beyond what our Terms say; your statutory rights, including a consumer's right to a service that conforms to the contract, are not affected.
- Planned downtime is possible at any time. We will give notice when we can; sometimes we won't be able to.
- Bugs are likely. Some will be cosmetic. Some will be irritating. We commit to fixing reported issues quickly when we can reproduce them; we do not commit to fixing them within any particular timeframe.
- Keep your own copies of your records and export them regularly, above all anything the law requires you to keep. AlpacaKeep keeps records and works out figures for your information; it does not give veterinary or legal advice (Terms of Service, Sections 6 and 10).
- Ask your herd is a closed test, open only to farms we invite and whose owner has agreed to it in writing. Its answers are written by AI and can be wrong or incomplete; the numbers come from your own records as they were entered. The answers are not veterinary, legal or tax advice and never give doses or diagnoses. Check anything important before you act, and in an emergency call your vet straight away.
2. What we promise in return
Beta is a two-way deal. In exchange for your patience:
- Your data stays yours. Primary application storage remains on EU servers and any optional processing outside the EEA is disclosed in the Privacy policy and Sub-processors page.
- We will never charge you for the beta period, even after public launch.
- Whatever you have entered before public launch will remain accessible without payment.
- Feedback shapes the roadmap. Beta-tester input is taken seriously and credited (when you want to be) in release notes.
3. What we will not do
- We will not sell your farm data or use it to train AI models. If you request AI certificate reading, Anthropic's Claude API processes only the selected document and proposal; if your farm takes part in the closed test of Ask your herd, it processes the question and the records the AI looks up to answer it, and web searches use only the question and the farm's country. Both happen under Anthropic's processor terms, and Anthropic's Commercial Terms do not allow it to train its models on that content.
- We will not bait-and-switch you into a paid tier without warning.
- We will not silently change a feature you depend on without notice.
- We will not read the questions asked on your farm with Ask your herd, or their answers, unless your farm's Owner or a Co-Owner allows it on the Ask page, and they can switch it off at any time. Otherwise our own tools show us only technical details, such as when a question was asked, whether it worked, which AI model answered, how long it took and what it cost, and how answers were rated.
4. How to leave
Beta participation is voluntary. You can stop using AlpacaKeep at any time, export your data via the in-app exporter, and request account deletion via your account settings (or by emailing privacy@alpacakeep.com). Deletion is the standard 30-day cool-off followed by a hard delete; see our Privacy Policy for the full GDPR Art. 17 procedure.
5. When public launch happens
When we open to the general public, your account, animals, records, photos and documents stay exactly where they are, with no data migration step. Beta farms keep their current plan free until a date we announce at least 30 days in advance; after that you choose the Free tier or a paid plan. Free stays free.
